Nusa Penida is famous for two things: mola mola (ocean sunfish) in cold upwelling season (Jul–Oct) and year-round mantas at Manta Point. The open-ocean sites attract large pelagics that rarely visit Bali directly. Lembongan's sheltered bays offer gentle coral gardens with turtles, reef fish, and occasional reef sharks, perfect for divers who want big-animal sightings without Penida's demanding conditions.

SD Point

Telkomsel 4G works well on Lembongan. Penida has patchy coverage inland. Reasonable WiFi at most guesthouses and cafes on both islands. Fast boat back to Bali takes 30–45 min if needed.
