What we collect

Dive Curated does not require an account, and we do not collect names, payment details, or booking data. Booking itself happens on the operator's or booking platform's own site, under their own privacy policy. We use Umami Analytics (Umami Cloud) to understand how the site is used (pages visited, which booking buttons get clicked). Umami is cookie-less and does not store IP addresses or other personal data that could tie a visit back to an individual, so no consent banner is required. We run no advertising cookies or trackers. Our hosting provider automatically logs standard technical data for every visit (IP address, browser type, timestamp, requested page) for security and operational purposes, per Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in keeping the site running securely).

Reviews and safety data

For each operator, we source public review data from the Google Places API and use it to compute aggregate ratings (e.g. "guiding: reliably good") and select a small number of representative quotes, which we show alongside our own facts on the operator's page. Any personal name that appears in a quoted review (a staff member, guide, or other individual) is replaced with a generic role description before publication. We never publish reviewers' names, profile links, or photos. Raw review data from Google is processed under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in giving divers an honest, sourced picture of an operator), balanced against reviewers' privacy through that redaction. If you believe a quote on this site still identifies you or someone else, contact us at the email above and we'll remove it. The same Google Places API also supplies each operator's business address, opening hours, and a static map image (fetched once and hosted on our own site, not loaded live from Google). This is public business information, not personal data.

Referral / affiliate links

Links to dive operators and booking platforms may include tracking parameters so the operator or platform can attribute a booking to Dive Curated and pay a referral commission. Once you click through, that site's own privacy policy applies. We don't see or store what happens after you leave this site.

Contact by email

If you email us, we use your address only to reply to you, under Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual / contact request). We don't add you to any mailing list.

Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to object to processing. Contact us at the email above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

As Dive Curated adds features, this policy will be updated and the "last updated" date above will change accordingly.
