Hurghada Diving Day Trip Prices: 2-Dive Boat Trip Compared

Eight of our tracked Red Sea operators around Hurghada list a two-dive boat day for certified divers. Headline prices run from EUR 45 to EUR 80, or EUR 22.50 to EUR 40 per dive, but the headline is the weakest way to compare them: the shops differ on whether equipment, the marine park fee, lunch and hotel transfers are in the price. This guide lists the base price and the extras each shop's own price list names.

    Diamond Red Sea, White Dolphin Diving Center and Red Sea Diving School all list EUR 45. Diamond adds EUR 10 a day for equipment rental, EUR 5 for fins and boots and EUR 5 for a computer. White Dolphin adds EUR 5 a day for full equipment without a computer and EUR 5 for a computer. Red Sea Diving School includes tanks, weights, guide, lunch, soft drinks, hotel transfers and the marine park fee, with equipment rental EUR 15 a day extra. Dive Nemo Hurghada lists EUR 50 with equipment recorded as included. Funnydivers lists EUR 50 with rental at EUR 15 a day and a EUR 20 a day transfer surcharge outside Hurghada City. Tauchen Hurghada lists EUR 50 with EUR 10 rental and a EUR 5 marine park fee extra for a one-day tier (EUR 65 estimated). Aquarius Red Sea lists EUR 50 with rental at EUR 20 a day, nitrox at EUR 4 a tank and lunch at EUR 7. IDive Diving Center lists EUR 80; wetsuit, BCD and regulator are EUR 7 a day each, tanks EUR 3 a dive, and the EUR 50 National Park ticket (with lunch and drinks) is extra, for an estimated EUR 130.

Getting there

  • Fly to Sharm el-Sheikh (SSH) on the Sinai Peninsula, or Hurghada (HRG) on the mainland - both have direct charter and scheduled flights from Europe.
  • Marsa Alam (RMF) serves the south.
  • Dahab is reached by bus or taxi from Sharm (1.5 hr).
  • Each base has a distinct character, choose it before you book accommodation.
  • Check current government travel advisories for the Sinai region before travelling.

Minimum stay

4 nights (7+ for liveaboards to far sites)

Good for your first trip if

Open Water minimum for most sites. Advanced OW recommended for Ras Mohammed and liveaboard itineraries (current, depth). Thistlegorm is manageable for OW divers with a guide; interior penetration is Advanced. Hyperbaric chambers in Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada. Dahab's Blue Hole is dangerous, never attempt the Arch (56 m) without full technical training.

Know before you go

  • Well-equipped hyperbaric facilities in Sharm and Hurghada.
  • Dahab's Blue Hole has a disproportionate accident record, never push depth here, and avoid the Arch without full technical training.
  • Currents at Ras Mohammed and the Brothers can be unpredictable.
  • Drink only bottled water.
  • Sun protection on surface intervals is critical in summer months.

How much is a diving day trip in Hurghada?

EUR 45-80 for two boat dives across the eight tracked operators, which is EUR 22.50-40 per dive. Diamond Red Sea, White Dolphin Diving Center and Red Sea Diving School are cheapest at EUR 45; IDive Diving Center is highest at EUR 80 before its extras.

Is the marine park fee included?

It depends on the shop. Red Sea Diving School states it is included in its EUR 45. Tauchen Hurghada lists a EUR 5 fee extra for a one-day tier, and IDive Diving Center lists a EUR 50 National Park ticket as extra. The other shops don't state it on the listing we checked, so ask before you book.

What does equipment rental add?

From EUR 5 a day at White Dolphin Diving Center (full equipment without a computer) to EUR 20 a day at Aquarius Red Sea, with Diamond Red Sea at EUR 10, Tauchen Hurghada at EUR 10 and Funnydivers and Red Sea Diving School at EUR 15. Dive Nemo Hurghada's price has equipment recorded as included.

Can I add a third dive?

Diamond Red Sea lists a third dive at EUR 20 extra per person per day and White Dolphin Diving Center at EUR 15 for an additional dive.
