Komodo Dive Prices 2026: Day Trips to Liveaboards

Komodo is priced above Bali's budget destinations but below the Maldives or Raja Ampat, and our seven tracked operators (Sea Creatures Diving, Maika Komodo Tour, Scuba Republic, Divers Paradise Komodo, Blue Marlin Komodo, Manta Rhei Dive Center, and Somer Dive Center) show a fairly tight day-trip band: most three-dive day trips run IDR 2,500,000-2,900,000 (about USD 141-164), whichever operator you book with. The bigger spread is liveaboards, which range from a IDR 9,000,000 (about USD 509) 3-day/2-night trip to USD 980-1,158 for 4-day itineraries with more remote routing.

The cheapest single dive we track is Sea Creatures Diving's night dive at IDR 1,300,000 (about USD 73). Discover Scuba Diving (no certification) runs IDR 2,900,000-3,150,000 (about USD 164-178). Multi-day packages from Manta Rhei Dive Center and Sea Creatures Diving run IDR 5,225,000 (about USD 295) for 2 days up to IDR 23,200,000 (about USD 1,311) for a 10-day, 30-dive package. PADI/SSI Open Water certification runs IDR 7,400,000-8,500,000 (about USD 418-480); Advanced Open Water IDR 7,200,000-8,000,000 (about USD 407-452). Getting there

  • Fly to Labuan Bajo (LBJ), direct flights from Bali (45 min) with Garuda/Lion/TransNusa, or via Jakarta.
  • Liveaboards depart from Labuan Bajo harbour; day-trip boats leave from the same harbour or local operators' jetties.

Good for your first trip if

Advanced Open Water minimum strongly recommended; many operators require it. Komodo's currents and cold thermoclines are demanding for newly-certified divers. Build experience on calmer sites first if this would be your first strong-current destination.

Know before you go

  • Dive conservatively and never skip safety stops.
  • DCS evacuation to Bali takes hours, and the nearest recompression chamber is there too (~2 hr flight).
  • Bring a personal first-aid kit; medical care in Labuan Bajo itself is limited to a basic clinic.
